And I thank you π
This was Old Montreal, the brand-new ferris wheel (talk about oxymoron) about an hour before midnight. We actually were ON (IN? closed cabin) the thing at midnight, facing the fireworks. Surreal…
You mentioned the Ferris Wheel named after it’s dad, George Washington Ferris. It’s one of my favorite, all time rides, and the very first one was made for the Chicago World’s Fair, in 1893. I wasn’t sure of the date. Next to Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix, it was the biggest hit at the fair…:)
Thank you, Monika. Was the coolest ever New Year celebration I ever participated in. 8 friends, down to 5 by the time we boarded the ferris wheel, the snow turned to rain, we cared not one whit…
Holy cow…it was single digits in the Mile High City. Mother Nature is sure mixed up these days! You totally deserve the grade, my friend. And some β¨stars!
I was flicking through here and I read “Marco”, which made me think . . . who’s adressing me on WW? Frank is usually the only one who does so, because he’s such a snarky feller.
Would you prefer I didn’t? It’s a habit of mine. Some people don’t want to be addressed by their actual name. I had one FF’r rip me a new one in an email.
No not at all, I dig Marco.
My comment was in reference to how I flick through comments on WW to like them, without paying much if any attention to what they’re saying since it’s either for Linds B or Q of the North, LOL.
How did find this site? I ask. Was I attracted to the Ferris wheel; to Montreal where I lived through two freezing winters way back before the dawn of time; the clever repartee between you and some of your followers, or is it because its almost 1 am on Friday morning and my fingers did the walking through some blog posts. In any event, Iβm glad i found you. I may be back on another hot night when sleep eludes me,
Very glad you enjoyed my picture, Judith. I’m just a weekly photo collaborator.
If you stop by here again, you will be treated to fabulous writing by the author of this blog, something I highly recommend. π
Mr. Marc, I’m curious *raises eyebrow a la Spock*. Why do you post Ms. Rogerson’s photos on Wordless Wednesday? (Are you her art dealer? I’d like to buy! π ) Curious 2: Why don’t YOU post photos of your own, too?
Ya know, I think to myself every week, “I should totally do Wordless Wednesday.” And then I never do… Damn time flying and earth spinning and all that jazz.
Ms Rogerson was kind enough to offer a pic a while back and it just kind of became a weekly thing from there. She offered and I said absotively. You’re spot on about the artistic quality of these photographs. I COULD be her art dealer.
As for me posting photos of my own, it just aint ‘ma thing. I am not a picture taker, and some would say this is a result of having grown up in a mafia neighborhood. But truth be told, I ain’t got the desire necessary to shimmy a shutter. I enjoy looking at other peep’s photographs though.
And really, the idea of this blog being wordless dripped with irony, so there’s that.
I believe, Mr. Marc, that at the very beginning of our, um, collaboration, you pilfered – I mean borrowed – my pics so I decided to keep you on the straight and narrow and offer them to you. Yanno, so’s you could be all legit and all that π
Dealer? Let’s talk.
I can see that β¦ ours is between downtown and the river. Here’s a nice picture from the other side of the river. Anything look familiar? https://www.skystarwheel.com/
How cool!
It does look ridiculously familiar. Ours is also between Old Montreal and the river (that little stretch of land behind it has a skating rink, a pier and then the St. Lawrence.
Clooney’s Idea if March … Rain Man … Care Blanchet movie of her in a relationship with younger woman … To name a few … Don Cheadle movie about Miles Davis
OH HOW I LOVE THIS…THIS IS WHAT IT BEAUTIFULLY BRINGS UP….AFTERNOONS AT PALISADES PARK, FREDDY CANNON BELTIN’ OUT THAT TUNE.
THE TILT A’ WHIRL AT RYE BEACH.
THOSE GIANT TEA CUPS NESTLED NEXT TO YOUR DAD.
THE BUMPER CARS AT LUNA PARK.
