OH MY!!!! It’s as though you placed that moon there. You’re more Maxfield Parrish than ever this week, and you know I mean that as a great compliment.
The tree looks like a weeping willow which considering the state of the world, quite apt. You have a purist’s eye Dale…spare, exact, drizzled in incredible beauty.
Oh! I am so glad you like! And yes, I do take that as a great compliment!
It’s funny, I was chasing the sunset, but to get there, have to walk along this cruddy road which brings me to the St. Lawrence River. And there the moon was, in a pink and purple sky. I took a bazillion photos but didn’t want to give just the moon.
I have no blessed clue what kind of a tree it was (except that it wasn’t a weeping willow – of that I’m sure as “mine” – I’ve claimed one in a park – is very yellow right now. Anyway, regardless, I am rather pleased you like!.
The moon has a way of getting us every time. I recently saw a new view I’ve never seen before. The moon had just risen and it was huge – maybe the biggest I’ve ever seen. BUT, here’s the kicker. it was late afternoon, so the sky was blue and the moon was faint. Unfortunately, I was driving, and by the time I was able to find a place to pull over, the moon had moved behind clouds.
It really does. And I love when it is in a blue sky, during the day. This was at about 4:45, give or take and instead of blue, the sky was all shades of pink and purple.
Don’t you hate it when you are driving and can’t stop?
What kind of sorcery is this? Sorry . . I still got GOT on the brain, but seriously, what kind of sorcery is this? Painting the moon with your magical eye like this? Have the gods of shutter rained down all their might on you? Tell me woman! Okay . . . I’ll stop.
You ever notice that the moon is like that painting that follows you wherever you go. Like, it’s ALWAYS watching you, and you cannot escape its stare no matter how much you try.
Gotta tell you… I had trouble with this one. I took a bunch in the pink/purple sky; with/without clouds and then had to decide on some with/without branches. I dunno about sorcery but maybe some luck?
It was! I swear. From the time the sky was blue, to pink to purple to indigo… I was chasing the sunset and the moon was chasing me. Rather cool, now that I think about it.
Sounds a lot like writing. You put something in, you take that something out. You put something else in, you change it here and there to fit . . . and the luck happens when you work at it.
I know it. I always felt the moon to be a cosmic sentinel. It’s up there standing guard over us.

I saw Pussy Willows so I took some poetic license. Why not offer this photo to Rochelle for FF. A suggestion. 🙂

They do look like pussy willows (I LOVE them).
She would be leery of this one as it would bring out the werewolves – in abundance. It’s amazing the lack of imagination some of these FFers have

I honestly didn’t pick up on the purple sky. I was enjoying the clarity of the moon. “We were sailing along, on Moonlight Baaaaay….”

I’ll share with you a couple I took where the purple is more pronounced…

Now that you put it that way… It is a lot like. Luck – it does need work to work!
It is. It is so compelling, too.
Love that you love.

As with anything else, we make our own luck most of the time.
So compelling. Yanno, that’s a very underrated word that deserves its place in the Melville file, so it’s in!
