Right? I dunno what the latest update did but the pictures are blowing me away. I was going to lug my camera with me but couldn’t find the charger and it was dead so I said to myself, I’d make do… well…
This brings to mind the saying “the bee’s knees” which means to compliment something as being excellent, and I have to say the term is appropriate in this instance. What with the fireworks quality of this particular shot.
At first I was looking at it from the perspective of being a planet, with the bee playing the role of astronaut, mining for resources. But the more I looked at it, the more I saw the explosion, that took on the appearance of fireworks. And the vibrant color is in keeping with that thought, as is the blurry background that possesses the quality of a sky at night in that it allows for us to focus our attention on the bright and colorful explosions.
It was ushered in almost a hundred years ago, along with “Cat’s whiskers”, which didn’t fare nearly as well over time.
There is! Like I said, that was my first glance after which I imagined a planet because of the bee- who looks like an astronaut. But the explosion of color kept coming back to me.
Peeps who don’t photog don’t know. I am always amazed at what y’all can do with that thing.
I mean, it’s really fucking convenient so I ain’t complaining. And I know you’re like me in that you try to figure something out before going to it. So it just happens to be a super convenient guide in our virtual back pocket.
You and Nature have such an ongoing love affair going. Trees, birds, buds and now majestic bugs. She must be sighing her little green head off, that Mother Nature.
We do, yanno. She shows me things that I would not normally look at. Or maybe I am just at a point in my life where I actually take the time to stop and see…
Praise is hard to wear for me. I shun it like a tarp. But I see by telling others like yourself who’s so exquisitely talented, it’s okay to take a humble bow. 🙏
it is the bees knees – and has the firework feel.
– I really like how the bee is up left and seems to be relaxing – so often they are foraging and that relaxed feel adds to it – so does the placement of the bee so we can feel the radiating bloom
and soft focus of the green –
I guess I am – when you find yourself compelled to take a pic and around you they laugh (she’s taking pictures of a weed!) And you just smile and keep on doing what you’re doing – that must qualify us as, either artists or nuts, which kinda go together, don’t they?
So, I try thank you, my true artist friend!
I am a fan of many of your photos, but this one…Wow! You captured this one perfectly. The detail and color are spectacular!

Why thank you! To think I took it with my phone! I was amazed myself, at the detail that came through.
So pleased you like 🙂

Your phone? Double impressed! Though I have to say I have long preferred my phone for night scenes.

To blooms and bees.

B,
I always wondered where that expression came from and it doesn’t matter, really, as long as it means it’s good!
I love your analyses here. Both are cool and definitely, this has a fireworks look to it.
The folks at the cottage were laughing at me. “Lookit her taking pictures of a weed!” I then showed them the results and they were like… “Cool”…
To blooms and bees and beauty in the ordinary.

Google is the elixir for curiosity any longer.
And there is always so much to see in art and photography. My curiosity comes from having artist and photogs for friends. 🙂

It is. We can no longer live without it.
It is very cool, I must say, to have this curiosity to take the time to look deep… It is very appreciated by this amateur photographer 😉

And you are beyond generous. I consider myself alright – compared to others. And I’m good with that!

Looks like an island bee to me. Notice the little water wings on it’s legs. Great shot, Dale.
